Some afternoons just feel good - the kind where the sun is shining, the air is warm, and everything feels light and effortless. That’s exactly what it was like shooting with Tamara.
She’s a tennis lover, a natural in front of the camera, and just starting to dip her toes into the world of modelling. And honestly? She belongs in it. We spent the afternoon down by the bay in Melbourne, soaking up the golden light, letting the sea breeze add its own touch to every shot. There’s something about being near the water that makes a shoot feel extra special - like time slows down just a little.
And while we were capturing all these beautiful moments, something unexpected caught my attention - container ships. I’d never actually stopped to watch them before, but there they were, massive and steady, as cranes moved around them with precision, unloading and reloading cargo like clockwork. It was strangely mesmerizing, this contrast between the slow, peaceful bay and the constant movement of industry just beyond it. A reminder that there’s always something happening, always a journey in motion - kind of like Tamara herself, stepping into this new world of modelling, finding her rhythm, figuring out where she wants to go.
She moved through the shoot with so much ease and took my direction like a pro. You’d never guess she’s only just getting into this. Between shots, we talked about tennis, about new opportunities, about that mix of excitement and nerves when you step into something unfamiliar. And I just know this is only the beginning for her.
By the time we wrapped up, the sun was starting to dip, the ships were still being loaded, and I walked away with that feeling I love most after a shoot - that we’d captured something real. A moment of light, warmth, and the start of something new.
With love,
Jen
